Do you want to take your acting to the next level and really bring a character to life? Do you want to start writing your own performance material and are not sure how to begin?
Join us in this acting workshop to learn a variety of character development skills that can be applied to scene work as well as creating your own original performance material. You will learn techniques to create a character body including the quality of their walk and stance, the essential gestures they use, and the key body parts that drive their motivations. You will discover how to adapt a character body to fit various performance styles. We will create original characters from source material and explore this process as a tool to generate original writing.
This is an advanced acting class that is recommended for participants who have taken Acting Foundations or have previous acting experience. This workshop invites you to connect deeply and playfully with yourself and others within community. We strive to create a safe and encouraging environment that celebrates your unique process, pace, and learning style.
